Counting the Blessings
Why be thankful? One good way to start and and your day is to list down in writing or simply just state in words or evenly silently to yourself the thingsthat you are thankful for. This develops positive energy in you and in the people around you. Thus, I’m also starting a section on this blog about the things that I am thankful for, and plan to post in it specifically what are those things that help make my day. I have been doing this before, but only in my mind, but I decided that it may be good if I can put it into writing. Already, as I am writing this blog entry, I feel the energy flowing into me.
Thankful to be alive. Right now, I honestly am thankful to be alive. It feels good to live. To feel. To just breathe. To think. To be conscious of the things around me. I am thankful for this moment of being able to experience all that.
Thankful for my parents. I am thankful for my parents, who take care of me. They are the people that I can rely on. When I used to have panic attacks, they would massage me and would let me sleep beside them like I was a small child, despite being a grown young man. I’m thankful for the time we spend walking around the village at night.
Thankful for this special someone. I’m thankful for this special someone in my life. I really look up to this person, I enjoy talking with her, and appreciate the time we spend together. I feel lucky, in a way, that she’s the one that I’m in love with.
Thankful for the opportunities. A lot of opportunities have been opened to me recently, opportunities that I never expected. I’m thankful for the chance to be able to give my best shot at managing a business and being able to share my knowledge to help others. This is an experience that I treasure, including the challenges, the difficulties, and the rewards.
There’s still a lot more to be thankful for. I’ll make it a habit to post an article like this about the good things that happen each day.
